Mental imagery is a widespread kind of subjective experience. Author investigated how multisensory parts of complex language imagery cohere. The study identified that, in order of relevance, visual images are most likely to be the trigger that accesses information about a given experience, followed by tactile and aural images. Results showed that romantic/sensual/sexual emotions were closely associated with olfactory and taste sensory pictures. Tactile imagery was found to have a negative link with love/family/friendship, whereas it was found to have a positive relationship with embarrassment.
