The second edition of this book reports a great deal of research on the database consisting of 30,000 participants who completed the questionnaire. This new material has enabled the authors to refine and develop their ideas. In addition to updating the original research findings, the authors added three new chapters and a revised appendix.
Chapter 13 analyses a methodology for reconciling cultural dilemmas and developing transcultural competence. Chapters 14 and 15 discuss diversity within rather than between countries, describing ethnic differences in South Africa and the USA. The chapters also consider the effects on culture of gender, age, functional background, and organizational structure. Appendix 2 outlines our research methodology in more detail.
